The location is close to Fort Collins. One has to reserve before seeing the campsite. But the pictures did not accurately reflect the site. Our site was gravel and weeds, with one dead bush. No shade… Full review by G D

Do you have to pay the entrance fee every day or every time you enter? That seems a bit much! I'm staying there for 14 days, $112 on entrance fees is quite ridiculous! Also, Bears. How is the campground taking precautions against bears entering? I am aware there are things I can do to prevent my campsite from smelling delicious to bears, but is there more going on? Thanks!

Getting a season or annual park pass may be the way to go. Inquire on ReserveAmerica for camping rates as I think the daily entrance fee is included since it is a State Park. We camped there a couple of years ago and there were no bears that will come anywhere near. It is a parking-style camping area with a parking space next to a swatch of grass next to another parking space and swatch of grass. There are usually many RVs running generators and kids running around. Very populated area - not like camping in the mountains. They do have proper bear-proof garbage containers, but I don't think bears are a problem here. There is a path that goes from the campground to the water where you can temporarily moor your boat when staying there (that's also where the fishing is good at night) and there is a large beach a short walk from there as well. I hope I wasn't too late with my answer to be of assistance to you. Have fun!
