Established since 1963, the Traverse Theatre hosts contemporary plays as well as readings and public workshops. They also offer tours and provide a venue for conferences and meetings.

I had never visited the Traverse before, so was very pleasantly surprised by the recent Tradfest which took place in both the larger and smaller theatres here. Modern tiered seating in both theatres… Full review by Julie G
It means that you don't get a specific named seat. You just get a ticket for the event and whether you end up in the front row or at the back depends on how near the front of the queue you are.
