Longer hike then they say, but 4 adults and 2 children made it. Was a beautiful day out and the trail is well traveled, would have been nice to have a bench or rock to sit on but still a trail to be … Full review by Piper417

When in Alaska always be on the lookout for bears! We hiked the Eagle River area also and a Ranger was hiking out. She said nobody had seen any bears or moose or even any fresh sign in a few days. We weren’t on the trail 20 minutes and we had a close encounter with an adult black bear and later saw sign. So ALWAYS be prepared! Thankfully the bear was 30-40 ish yards away up a hill so we just gave it more space and it walked away.
