Sean Monahan scored twice in his 800th NHL game, helping Columbus beat the Boston Bruins 6-2 and extending the Blue Jackets’ home win streak to three games.

The previous time the Bruins played the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Jackets’ 5-1 win at TD Garden triggered the end of the Jim Montgomery era. The B’s have come a long way since then. But, boy, the return game in Columbus on Friday looked awfully familiar.

The Columbus Blue Jackets used a four-goal second period and went 3-for-3 on the power play to cruise past the visiting Boston Bruins 6-2 in the opening half of the teams' back-to-back, home-and-home series on Friday night.

Columbus will also be back in the home confines of Nationwide Arena as they get back to action. The Blue Jackets come into this game against the Bruins with a 9-2-3 mark in their last 14 home games. Head coach: Joe Sacco (First season)

Dmitri Voronkov scored twice and had an assist and Sean Monahan had two goals to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 6-2 win over the Boston Bruins at Nationwide Arena on Friday. The Blue Jackets have outscored the Bruins 11-3 in their first two games this season.
