Jason Sudeikis is defending “Ted Lasso” from haters. The 49-year-old star and co-creator of the Apple TV+ series addressed criticisms of the show’s third season in an interview with reporter Jeremy Egner, featured in his new book, “Believe: The Untold Story Behind Ted Lasso, the Show That Kicked Its Way Into Our Hearts,” which is out today.

Ted Lasso’s season three received criticism over its scattered storylines and “unfocused” character arcs. Jason Sudeikis who portrays the title character addressed the criticism and lashed out haters.

Still, Sudeikis isn’t interested in taking the blame for the failings of the third season. As he sees it, according to Believe: The Untold Story Behind Ted Lasso, the Show That Kicked Its Way Into Our Hearts by Jeremy Egne (via TVLine ), the fault belongs to the audience for their lack of imagination.

Season 3 saw Keeley and Rebecca teaming up to start their own women’s league, while Sudeikis finally left the UK to reunite with his family in Kansas. All in all, Ted Lasso ended Season 3 on a happy note that could easily serve as the show’s series finale.
