The killer whale who carried her dead calf around in 2018, J35, better known as Tahlequah, is in mourning again after she lost another baby.

An orca has been spotted carrying the body of its deceased calf. The orca named Tahlequah, first gained global attention in 2018, when she did a similar gesture when her previous female newborn died.

In December, news broke that Tahlequah, the orca who famously carried her dead calf for 17 days, had given birth. Sadly, it appears that the new calf has died.
