The Metro Nashville Police Department opted to permanently add a third school resource officer to Antioch High School as students return Tuesday.

A student opened fire inside Antioch High School, shooting two other students and then himself, the authorities said. A female student and the shooter were killed, officials said.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Antioch High School is set to host a student-led rally on Tuesday to honor the victim of the shooting inside the school’s cafeteria on Jan. 22, 16-year-old Josselin Corea Escalante. According to Metro Nashville Public Schools, the rally also aims to elevate student voices and advocate for action on key issues.
