Pakistan Cricket Board will host the Champions Trophy opening ceremony on February 16 at Huzoori Bagh in Lahore. Ahead of that, the PCB officials will unveil the newly renovated Gaddafi and Karachi stadiums.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had originally planned for an opening ceremony to take place two to three days before the opening match of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, only for it to reportedly be called off along with the official captains’ photo shoot.

The confusion regarding Indian captain Rohit Sharma traveling to Pakistan for the opening ceremony of the 2025 Champions Trophy may now be put to rest.

The prestigious tournament, which will run from February 19 to March 9, will feature eight of the world’s top ODI teams, including Pakistan, India, England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh,

Though ICC ensured to keep a day reserve for the captains’ joint photo shoot, PCB reportedly cancelled the event citing the ‘unavailability of teams due to tight traveling schedules’.

There is no need for India skipper Rohit Sharma to travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy as ICC and PCB have cancelled the opening ceremony or captains photoshoot.

The PCB and ICC are also finalizing details for the captains' press conferences and photo shoots, which are expected to be held in Lahore on February 16, just ahead of the tournament's start.
