Marcus Rashford is becoming an increasingly large problem or Manchester United as the January transfer window progresses.

The reason behind Ruben Amorim’s decision to freeze Marcus Rashford out of his Manchester United first-team plans has reportedly emerged. Rashford scored two goals in Amorim’s first three games in charge at Old Trafford but now appears to have been deemed surplus to requirements.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has turned down lucrative offers from Saudi Arabian clubs to remain at Old Trafford.

However, with his squad stretched by the packed festive schedule Amorim has returned the 27-year-old to the bench for the meeting with Newcastle at Old Trafford. Joshua Zirkzee, Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo were named as starters in attack.

The England international has been dropped from Ruben Amorim's matchday squad in each of United's three most recent matches.
