The Buffalo Sabres currently find themselves in a rut, having recently lost their bout vs the Montreal Canadiens. Lindy Ruff’s men entered the clash hoping to extend their three-match winning streak by capitalizing on the Canadiens’ patchy run of form.

The Buffalo Sabres lost a high-scoring shootout on Monday afternoon at KeyBank Centre, dropping a 7-5 decision to the division-rival Montreal Canadiens. Unfortunately for Buffalo, that wasn’t their only loss of the day.

The Montreal Canadiens scored goals barely two minutes apart on their first two shots against Sabres backup goaltender Devon Levi in the third period, and the last-place team in the Eastern Conference halted Buffalo’s win streak with a 7-5 victory Monday in front of a split crowd at KeyBank Center.
