Ezekiel Elliott played for the Dallas Cowboys a week after he was left home for disciplinary reasons, and the running back had a costly fumble in the first half of a 34-6 loss to NFC East rival Philadelphia on Sunday.

Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones elected to bring back Elliott over the offseason despite his lackluster play in 2022, his last season in Dallas. But the signing has been disappointing, as the 29-year-old has slowed down significantly more and has shown signs of locker room issues.

Ezekiel Elliott did not travel with the Cowboys to Atlanta, as the team is disciplining the running back for his attendance issues in meetings.

He's often tardy to practices and meetings, and he's missed three team meetings. His absence at Friday's meeting was apparently the "final straw."

It was the first time Elliott was a healthy scratch for Dallas in any game other than a regular-season finale.
