A deadly shooting on Christmas Day was a murder-suicide, Des Moines police say. Officers were called to a home in the 2900 block of East 40th Court shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a shooting. Police found two people with gunshot wounds. A man died at the scene, while a woman was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
