Three men and two boys are in custody after a Twin Cities high school basketball player was attacked with a pipe at a game Tuesday night, according to the New Hope Police Department.

According to New Hope police, the incident took place around 7:05 p.m. during a varsity boys basketball game between Cooper High School and Fridley High School. Just after the game began, six people entered the school and used a pipe to assault a 17-year-old Fridley player who was sitting on the bench.
