Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is expected at a court hearing in New York Friday about whether he should be found in contempt of court, an appearance the longtime ally of President-elect Donald Trump sought to skip at the last minute.

Giuliani previously requested to delay a trial in the case to attend Donald Trump’s inauguration in Washington, D.C.

A Manhattan federal judge will consider on Friday a request by two Georgia election workers to hold former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in civil contempt for refusing to turn over property as payment toward a $148 million defamation award.
