In last night’s 5-3 win over the New York Islanders, Philadelphia Flyer Ryan Poehling exited the game in the first period with what the team later announced as an “upper-body” injury.

NHL Player Safety has suspended Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov for three games after his hit on Ryan Poehling Thursday night. Tsyplakov was initially given a major penalty on the play before a review deemed the hit clean.

Joel Farabee had two assists, and Samuel Ersson made 26 saves for the Flyers (20-20-6), who extended their point streak to four games (3-0-1). Farabee was a healthy scratch for each of the previous three games.
