COLUMBUS, Ohio — In the fall of 2022, Zach Aston-Reese signed a professional tryout offer to go to training camp with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He impressed enough in training camp to earn a one-year, one-way contract with the Leafs. He played 77 games and scored 10 goals that season.

Blue Jacket retain Aston-Reese for one more year at $775,000 after claiming him off waivers from the Golden Knights in the preseason.
