Dylan DeMelo scored with 27 seconds left to play to give the Winnipeg Jets a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken.

Matty Beniers scored in the first period for Seattle and Mark Scheifele scored a power-play goal for Winnipeg in the second period. Winnipeg goalie Connor Hellebuyck made 18 saves and Seattle's Joey Daccord stopped 34 shots.

Youngster Matty Beniers got things going for Seattle just 8:12 into the game. A floating pass from the defensive zone caught the Jets standing still, before Kaapo Kakko fed Beniers for a redirection from the top of the crease which beat Hellebuyck for the early 1-0 score.

The Seattle Kraken travelled to the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 16 for the last game of their road trip. The game was tied 1-1 heading into the third. It was ultimately the Jets who took the win, 2-1, at the last possible second.

The Kraken keep attempting to repeat their past that led to a 2023 playoff run. But they've failed to repeat that formula, and now must consider a rebuild.
