Denton Mateychuk scored his first career NHL goal and Luca Del Bel Belluz notched his second as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the visiting Seattle Kraken 6-2 Thursday night.

Dmitri Voronkov scored two goals and the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the St. Louis Blues 6-4. Kirill Marchenko, Adam Fantilli, Mathieu Oliver and Mikael Pyyhtia also scored for the Blue Jackets, who are 5-2-1 in their last eight.

Voronkov continued his torrid pace, scoring two more goals on Saturday — his third two-goal game in his last seven outings — to help the Blue Jackets to a 6-4 win over the St. Louis Blues before an over-capacity crowd of 18,535 in Nationwide Arena.

The Seattle Kraken are in Columbus tonight to face the Blue Jackets for the second and final time of the season. The Kraken beat the Jackets on November 12th by a score of 5-2. The Kraken are limping into Columbus with a three-game losing streak and losers of 8 of the last 10 games.

With the win, Columbus is just 2 points behind Ottawa, which holds the final wild-card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Seattle Kraken hit the road for the first of their five-game road trip on Thursday. They’ve played the last four games on home ice, and perhaps they were used to that.
