After a break of 33 years, the Hungarian MotoGP Grand Prix will return to the world championship calendar in 2025, promoter Dorna announced on Thursday.

MotoGP has agreed a deal with the Balaton Park Circuit that will result in Hungary returning to the championship for the first time in 33 years. As reported by Autosport at the end of August, the recently-built Balaton Park Circuit on the outskirts of Hungary’s capital Budapest will be the most notable addition on the 2025 MotoGP calendar.

Balaton Park in Hungary is set to be included on the 2025 MotoGP™ calendar. The venue, near Lake Balaton in western Hungary, will undergo upgrades to the circuit and facility in order to welcome the world’s most exciting sport next season.
