Changes could be coming to the college football transfer portal cycle in the near future. On Tuesday, FBS coaches voted unanimously in support of a proposal that would reduce the transfer portal window to a 10-day period in January.

FBS coaches voted to move the transfer window to Jan. 2 through Jan. 12 starting in the 2025-26 academic year. The move would wipe out the current portal windows in December and April and potentially provide a boost to teams competing in the college football playoff and the lesser bowl games.
