While Lift may have commanded a huge audience on Netflix, viewers couldn’t help but slate the action film on Rotten Tomatoes, branding it ‘laughably bad’.

“Damsel” and “Fool Me Once” are taking the titles of the most-watched movie and show on Netflix in the first half of 2024. Specifically, the Millie Bobby Brown movie was viewed 143.8 million times for a total of 263.7 million hours. As for “Fool Me Once,” it was viewed 107.5 million times for a total of 689.5 million hours.

Netflix saw a British invasion this year - with four of its 10 biggest shows globally in the first half of 2024 coming from the U.K.: "Fool Me Once," the Emmy-winning "Baby Reindeer," "The Gentlemen" and "One Day.
