The Saints had two other candidates withdraw from their coaching search, with Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady choosing to stay in Buffalo and Aaron Glenn opting to take the Jets’ head coaching job after a virtual interview with the Saints. Both Brady and Glenn previously were assistant coaches in New Orleans.
Kingsbury came to Washington after spending four seasons as the Cardinals’ head coach, going 28-37-1 in the regular season with zero playoff wins before getting fired after the 2022 season. The Commanders enjoyed a renaissance season under head coach Dan Quinn and Kingsbury this year, going 12-5 and winning their first postseason game since 2005.
