Microsoft Teams meetings are getting a new interpreter feature that lets each participant speak or listen in the language of their choosing. Interpreter in Teams uses real-time AI-powered speech-to-speech translation to simulate your speaking voice during meetings.

Microsoft Teams users will soon be able to use cloned versions of their voices to speak and translate conversation in real time, as the company unveils its new, AI-powered Interpreter tool.

Users will also be able to translate entire PowerPoint presentations into any of 40 languages.

Microsoft unveiled a new interpreter feature for Teams meetings at Ignite 2024, leveraging AI for real-time language translation. Available in preview in early 2025, this feature supports nine languages and simulates a participant's voice for natural interaction.

Microsoft plans to roll out a slew of new AI features, capabilities, and agents for its 365 Copilot ecosystem starting in early 2025.
