Five people have died after a fire erupted in the San Gabriel Valley. Mandatory evacuation orders are in place for residents in communities such as La Cañada Flintridge, Altadena, and Sierra Madre.

Four major wildfires are burning in Los Angeles County on Wednesday morning, destroying homes and landmark businesses and endangering tens of thousands of residents. Hundreds of firefighters worked through the night but had to contend with an intense windstorm and terrain withered by months of dry weather.
