The thing is, every program has a different philosophy for how to create this deficit. Some do keto, some pre-made meals, some do liquid only diets.

My pre-op diet was 800 calories per day from 4 protein meal replacement shakes for 2 weeks, with the last day before surgery being clear liquids only. Some days I was so full from the shakes (16oz each to dilute the shake enough to be consumable) and drinking as much water as I could in between that I only got 3 shakes in. I was tired.
How many calories per day for pre-op surgery diet?
May 30, 2024 · Only requirement was to stay under 30g carbs until 2 days before the surgery, then clear liquids. I also wasn’t given a calorie goal. Just 4 oz of lean protein with each meal, non starchy veggies and 3 or less servings total of fruit and yogurt. I need to keep carbs under 30 grams/day and drink at least 64 oz of water.
