It was 2009 when our founder, Hugh (Jackman–actor and coffee lover, but, until then, not much of a farmer) and his wife, Deb, traveled to the region to see just what it takes to grow the beans that the world takes for granted, every single day.

In 2009, Hugh Jackman and his wife Deb traveled to Kochere, Ethiopia as global ambassadors for World Vision Australia. There, Hugh met a coffee farmer named Dukale, who was growing coffee using a simple technology that had zero carbon emissions.
