For consoles that output 480p, e.g the GameCube and OG Xbox, any $30 HDMI to component is fine. It won’t scale to 1080p or 4K, your TV will have to do that part. But most TVs still accept 480p properly. The Frameister and OSSC are more intended for consoles that output 240p, since modern TVs have no clue what that signal is.

If you can't afford that go with the Wii2HDMI, but I can assure you while the cost may be 1/5th the component and HDMI converter the quality is well less than 1/5th. Wii2HDMI gets a lot of hate here.

Similar to the composite cable, the Wii component cable has the proprietary Wii AV end, but the other end is where it's different. It has 5 different connectors, as mentioned previously.

May 11, 2021 · No "ps2 hdmi" cable will upscale, sharpen or soften any image for you. They are just the cheapest solution. As mentioned, the OSSC is a good way of upscaling your resolution. I have no personal experience with the device though. I use HD Retrovision PS2/3 component cables connected to a Retrotink Multiformat.
