AirNow.gov provides current and forecast air quality information for your area, based on the Air Quality Index (AQI) that measures the health impacts of five common pollutants. Learn how to protect yourself from wildfire smoke, ozone, and particles with the updated Fire and Smoke Map and user-friendly interfaces.
AirNow.gov provides current and forecasted air quality data for ozone and PM, as well as information on wildfire smoke and other pollutants. You can search for a U.S. location, use your current location, or visit the International navigation tab.
The list below shows the areas with the highest NowCast AQI for the current hour. The AirNow system automatically generates this list every hour, based on the areas with the highest NowCast AQI for ozone or particle pollution. Because air quality can change during the day, the areas on this list may change throughout the day, too.
Find current and forecast air quality data for New Jersey by county and state. See the AQI for ozone and PM2.5, and check for wildfire smoke impacts on the interactive map.
This map shows PM2.5 from wildfires and other sources in the US. You can use your device location, change map settings, and view smoke plumes, outlooks, and fire information.
AQI is EPA's tool for communicating about outdoor air quality and health. It has six color-coded categories, each corresponding to a range of index values, from 0 to 500. The higher the AQI value, the greater the level of air pollution and the greater the health concern.
Use this tool to calculate the pollutant concentration from the AQI value for different pollutants. Select a pollutant, enter the AQI value, and see the results in different concentration units.
